Austin is still a cool city but it used to be a cool city where you could still buy an nice, affordable house. Not as much the case anymore.

It peaked in like 2008-12.

Big Companies are "pulling back" in most be metro areas everywhere
Residents may be moving back to Cali but I've not seen data supporting that. But Austin's population is still growing faster then DFWs.

To say Austin is crashing or failing is ridiculous. I hate what has happened to Austin with the over development and influx of people there for a high paying tech job and some nebulous fantasy of what Austin is, it really has become more like Dallas.
