26,000+ moved from Louisiana to TX in 2015 alone and the number grows every year
Lots of good Louisiana people moved to Houston for a better quality of life and this board just shits on these people.
I would love to see the ratings and rankings of schools from Houston suburbs like Katy ISD and Cy Fair ISD compared to Zachary or Prarieville or some of the other excellent school districts in Louisiana. I've been told by many there is no comparison in quality of education. But many here saying it's equal

My point still holds that you can pay big bucks for private school in NOLA or you can send your kids to equal or better education in public school in Houston (as long as not HISD). Seriously, Deer Park and LaPorte ISD's have tons of money from property taxes on industry and industry doesn't mind as it has almost walking distance educated labor pool.
So move to the suburbs for good schools? That's pretty much true across the country man

ok,,no just no
since Robin Hood the State seizes taxes from property tax rich districts and no one in LaPorte or Deer Park walk to the refineries.. and the educated dont live in Deer Park, they live in CLear Lake and drive to work in Deer park

Name them, and yes, I can tell the difference. Houston is a world class health care destination, name one in La. I am not dogging on La in the least, I am La born and bred. I love La with all my being.

I think CitizenK is seriously having a stroke right now. Dude isn’t making a bit of sense.

Yep. I went to Broadmoor in 1982 and it was great but now it's an F school. My kids have an A public school now. Sure, I commute 36 miles to work but the two aren't comparable.

Are you saying they don’t sell prime beef at those stores?
Because I’ve bought it at every one of them

I've got nothing against Houston Owl. I wouldn't leave Louisiana for there because it's hot and flat but that's out of anyone's control.

I’d move back to Houston, it’s not really a bad place. I would never live outside the loop though...heights, west U, river oaks, etc only
