Didn’t they recently bitch in Nola about a roadway that was built to go around a predominantly black neighborhood and that they wanted the roadway to go through their neighborhood?

The Claiborne Ave overpass crap? Which was mostly built on the neutral ground that was already there - yes a few houses & businesses had to be knocked down - but it was either that or the French quarter

I-10 and 110 were built against recommendations of Army Corps of Engineers. Two big reasons were that it would become a shitty traffic -ridden city road, and that it would cut Old South Baton Rouge and other black neighborhoods in half. Baton Rouge officials ignored their advice.

My dad’s house on Melody Drive was part of that. He mentions it whenever we pass over it in a car.
