Fort Jackson and Fort St. Philip in Venice are both cooler.

Keep in mind Jean Lafitte and his men inhabited Grand Terre prior to 1814. The British met Lafitte there before the Battle of New Orleans in 1814. The British had hoped Lafitte would join them in the battle. But they were wrong.
Shortly after this is when construction was started.
