I'm saying the one behind all this wanted a city from the get- go. So, I'm asking you if there's any other legislators who said this, or is this all based on the oh so trusty Senator Bodi White's word?

Sharon Weston Broome said if you want a school district you should incorporate. She couldn't support a collection of neighborhoods forming a school district. Would have to be a city like central or Zachary.
I'm paraphrasing but that's pretty much the exact sentiment of what she said fm the floor.

Doesn't St. George FD already handle that area?
But what would likely change is the cooperative agreement those districts have with the BR fire department which currently allows those independent districts to request emergency back up help from the BRFD. The same is applicable for the BR city police assisting the EBR sheriff outside the city limits when help is requested by the sheriff.

It's laughable that people actually believe that.
it's also laughable that the "small government conservatives" want MORE government in their lives.

And all those new businesses that flock to St. George would be eligible for 10-year prop tax exemption anyways.

This is the part that seems contradictory to me. More government and more taxes.

In my experience br popo generally won't cross the imaginary line. Ask the good people who live on south park.

Why would this change? Does St. George not currently assist BR if requested? How often is help like this requested?

Only In extreme fricking circumstances. There is a street called south park that the city popo will not work. The brpd station is on the corner of Coursey and southpark. It would have to be a huge event like an officer/deputy being shot.

Wow. I wonder what recent events have them being so... Cooperative.

I never sleep. And even when I do sleep, I keep one eye open...always watching, always probing, looking for any weakness.

I wasn't aware of that part of the exemption. Then again, I doubt many businesses in SG would fit that requirement.
