Great Uncle (paternal grandmothers, oldest brother) was an Army Major General (2 star)

Started his military career riding in the cavalry during WW1 as a teenager. Served in WW2 and had advisory role in Korea as well. The man was tough as nails.

Rear Admiral on my side, General (need to ask rank) on wife’s side.

Currently have 2 cousins that are Colonels in Air Force. Three retired family members as colonels in Army and Air Force. Father in law retired as Army major.

I was in scouts… but that’s it.

Master Chiefs run the Navy..

When I was in the Navy, that anchor with two stars above it was more of a notice to be squared away than any bird on a collar. I knew a Senior Chief in Gitmo that made it in 12 years. Apparently, he did some serious shite in Iraq during the 1st Gulf War. My chief, who was about to retire, and spent his entire career with Recon Marine and SeeBees, alluded that he was the shite.

SGT. I only did 5 years though. The highest rank I know that was one of my peers and one point, Enlisted Battalion CSM, Warrant 2 CW4s, and Officer a Major.

My late FIL was a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) in the Air Force. He was over a company, ina NCO role, that handled nukes in Germany. Hell of a man.
