Even though HL Mencken said "Opera in English makes about as much sense as baseball in Italian", here is an opera in English full of sailing ships and wars and fightin' and shite:

Paul Groves is a world class opera singer who lives in Madisonville, LA and is a graduate of LSU and Julliard.

I really enjoy Rodney Gilfry's performance in Don Giovanni from a 2001 production.

My favorite will always be Montserrat Caballe, who is still singing, but not like she was in 1974.

Who can forget her singing with Freddie Mercury in 1988? Sadly Freddie didn't live long enough to actually sing it live at the 1992 Olympics.

i was in the pit orchestra when he sang in Bartered Bride at LSU. he's fantastic

actually, i dont really like opera that much.

Ballet is where it's at!
