DC has worse traffic without question.
Not to take anything away from Seattle. Traffic is no joke here either.

That's how it was for me when I first moved to AZ. I was mesmerized by all the mountains nearby.
Yep. Also where we would be living in NC has about 30 wineries within 30mins drive(Yadkin Valley)...which is also a positive. The craft beer scene is really good there too.

New York state because its where New York City is.

I would think the combo of beach and mountains would be a perfect combination.
If we ever move out of AZ....it has to be a place with mountains at least.

For sure. I think we would be kicking ourselves if we passed up the opportunity.

Yep. Worst case you hate it and move. Best case...you find a place you love where you live at.
You only have one life, why live somewhere if it isn't making you happy?

When I visit my cousin in Prescott we always hike up some mountain there. Thumb Butte I think is the name. He's trying to talk me into buying some land with him up that way.

I drove through Arizona recently. Had to wait 5 minutes in the parking lot of a Culver's outside of Phoenix for the clock to strike 10 am so I could eat lunch. Being the one state in the continental US to not observe DST, dammit AZ. Why?

Which has worse traffic? DC or Seattle? To me, DC traffic is worse than any other city I've been to. Ive never been to Seattle though.
Downtown Seattle at rush hour is hell. Took 90 minutes to get from Belltown to Redmond. It's 20 min. otherwise.

Yeah that name sounds familiar. I've only gone hiking out there once while B was mountain biking. He goes out that way for biking often in the summer though.
But yeah....you should buy land out there. It's so pretty up there. Payson area(and nearby Mogollon Rim) is also nice. Next time you visit your cousin....def make a trip up to Mogollon Rim

ETA: Hopefully I won't be able to drink then and can just be the built in DD for the night

I've been to Utah many times over the last 20 years and have never had a single encounter with batshit crazy Mormons.
It's a pretty awesome place in my experience. The only bad thing I've seen is the weak arse beer they have to sell in stores.
I spent my summers with my Mormon grandparents in Provo/Orem. Nicest people in the world. Considering the Mormon majority and the power of the LDS vote, they are incredibly gracious and accepting of other faiths in Utah.
