I love the “ I support strippers “ sticker. That’s the epitome of class right there.
That’s the type of baw you want on your side when checking knuckles at your local sonic.

The dude looked about 20 and maybe weighed about 120. Probably a tough fricker though. If he was smart about money and been working as a welder (which I'm guessing from the frick xray sticker) he may have brought that truck cash.

You dont pull your box out unless you're leaving the job. The job could have ended and he got laid off. He could have drug up. Or he could have been out of work for a while and just leaves his box in his truck.

Or he could drive around with the box in his truck.

A lot of contractors do.

Apparently he is a welder in the oilfield. Which means a good chance all his gear is in there instead of junking up his truck.

If he’s a turnaround guy he could be leaving to start a new one somewhere.

Which usually means a layoff. Even on a transfer a lot of times you get the layoff and then do paperwork on another plant

Saw someone headed west on I10 today with a 'Welders Prayer'

Last line was something about praying about xrays

Most contractors work 4/10s FWIW, unless turnaround/shutdown

On what planet? In house nested Maintenance contractors are the only ones who work 4-10s besides operations/operators folks. Been in capital and new construction for 12 years and have never been on or run a project that was less than 5-10s. Most have gone to 6-10s multiple times on a given project.

And, I always lay people off towards the end of the day on Fridays. Usually give the super the go ahead and ROF paperwork around 3:00, to give to whoever we are laying off around 3:30, so we have time to inspect and get their box out by quitting time.

LOL, can't get over the dudes that have to bring that many of their own tools to a job. frick that, the contractor should be supplying everything but a few hand tools.
