1 easily. I have a wife who also contributes to the household finances. If I had a wife with a shite job, or who didn't work I would choose 2.
This is kinda similar to my current situation, except I work from home, so I don't have to be in an office for 40 hours a week. I could get a job where I have to travel and work much more diligently, and could double my income, but it's not worth it.

another pre-tax 50k isn't worth going from ZERO stress/hassle/headache to normal job stress. It's not even debatable IMO

I already make over 100k and surf TD just about all day with maybe about 15 hours of work during the week.
