My wife doing a project through her little group. The project suppose to help an older person fix up their house. The group suppose to do it and somehow I got this task dropped in my lap and they will get credit for it.

The permit is pulled and I got my subs lined up. There is some small stuff I can do myself. Instead of going to Dash Lumber or Kellet Lumber for small orders, I decided to go to HomeDepot off Bullard. That store use to rock back in 1997. It was a ghost town today compared to 1997. Someone told me there was a Lowes off Elysian Fields which is closer to the area I am working. They said that area was worse than the East. I have not been to the Lowes off I-10 & Elysian Fields which I plan to go tomorrow. They say it is right off I-10 by a truck stop.

Which area is safer Bullard in the East or Elysian Fields around I-10 area?

Been in that Lowe's several times. It's fine.

Nice labor force outside too.

I use that Lowe’s semi regularly. I’m not trying to roam the neighborhood alone at night but is there something you are particularly worried about?

Well Elysian and I-10 is pretty much the border of the East. Not sure you can really separate the two but I would go to that Lowe’s before I would go any further east for damn sure. I went to the WalMart a couple of miles east of there to grab something and it was an ummmm cultural experience to say the least.

You’re gonna get mugged either way so it just depends what hospital you prefer.

I mean, are you asking about which area is safer to park your beat up truck for a half hour while you go in and buy wood?

Thanks, it seems a lot closer than going to the East or Harahan for small stuff.

I agree with the trick question.
Seriously, I'd keep away from the East if possible. EF Lowes isn't bad to most who don't worry about everything.
Good luck with your wife's project, I mean build out.

It a true gut.
The termites got to this place pretty good.

I am trying to learn my way around.
I was told by subs today was don’t go here or there.

Your fear shouldn't be shopping where there are plenty of people. It should be rebuilding a house with several hundred dollars of equipment laying around.

Where is the house?

Gentility Terrance or something like that.
Major cross road Gentilly, Franklin, and Elysian Fields.

I budgeted twice the material cost as I expected this. Any left over money goes to back to their fund. Any extra I guess my business will donate it to their project.

You're good there. It's not incredible, but I have a friend that just moved off St Roch and it is a prettt chill neighborhood.

Just don't go here or there looking like you're a mark. They can
tell who's open for their shite and who isn't. I like to look them in
the eyes since some don't speak english and the others do but
I can't understand it.

Just avoid the area south of Lake Pontchartrain and east of the 17th Street Canal.

Either one is instant death. Although I’ve travelled Elysian Fields hundreds of times without incident. Bad driving around there but never been shot in the face.
