In black and white, preferably. Want to get some specific shots framed and matted for the house. The Brooklyn Bridge, LSU quad, etc.

I'm not an art/photography person so I have no clue where to begin.

Is that the "old bridge"?

You can always find someone only who lives in the area of a specific landmark you are looking for and have them take a picture. I'd imagine you can go to office depot or somewhere and get a high quality print out of it.

How do I take a Google image, turn it b&w, and then have it printed 36x24?

Go to Michael's crafts on Airline near Old Hammond.
They have several racks of prints, and large Louisiana and LSU sections.
Any of the frame shops in the area would probably also have local prints - Acadian Frame Shop on Drusilla or Lagniappe Frame Shop on Jefferson.
