This is us. We are planning on moving where we plan to retire but I want to do it before age becomes a factor for us getting another job. Plus the last kid will be out of school in 4 years.

This is exactly why we are going to try and pull the trigger on this next year. I always thought we could wait and move when we actually retired, but I can no longer overlook the incompetence of our local and state governments.

My wife has a pretty large family and they are just about all in the Birmingham area so she wants to be within fairly easy driving distance of there without living there. She doesn't want to be too close either

No, but when you grow up with it, it’s just part of life.

But I’m done with it

My mother in law JUST moved back to LA this month. I dropped the bomb on her when we went to see her new house this past weekend. She moves back…we’re moving out. Do you think she picked up on anything???

I still love it. Roads stay pretty clear and snow beautifies everything.

We’ll probably move in the next 10 years or so. Not sure where to yet. It’ll definitely be a country type smaller town. It would be nice to live in a place that has half competent people running the government and not have to hear sirens and read about shootings on a nightly basis.

That’s one of the reasons we’re looking at Naples. Take a look at their mayor, city council, district attorney, and chief of police. It’s laughable when you compare them to their counterparts here in BR.
