Depends on the situation.
A public place or within eye / ear shot is a good idea.
Though if you are selling / buying something in a parking lot you could get jacked. These take place at busier places like town-centers or even police stations.
A friend told me to do a couple drive-by's and look for any other people just waiting around doing nothing.
Though they can also be taking the same measures.
