It was always there since the dawn of time.

Men compete, women select the winner. The rules change over time but the premise is the same.

That's evolutionary biology's answer, but until the proliferation of cell phones, games, as they're played today, haven't existed for very long.

Pre hippie generation, women were less sexually liberal. Families played a much more prominent role in this.

Men and women have always played games, fenced and parried.

And do you know what invention produced the greatest sociological change of the 20th century? The automobile? The computer?

Nah.

The washing machine.

Washing clothes used to take a shitload of time. But the washing machine freed women from this labor and left them very little to do at home -- allowing them to go out and get jobs.

That's been a roller coaster since the dawn of civilization. Look at ancient Greece and Rome. They were as sexually liberal as any generation ever.

So was Georgian-era England. The Victorian era was a backlash against the Georgian excesses.

I was referring to evolutionary psychology. I disagree that because of technology, the minds/motives of men and women are different because of it.
