This fire, dubbed the Tamarack Fire, is now 6,600 acres. It was less than 1,000 yesterday. It is showing up even better on radar than last night, and has smoke reaching near 20k feet. Lightning has been listed as the cause.

One thing about local TV weather apps is that they are the same on the back end. Their weather vendor creates a version for each client that pays for it with customized logos and content but the heart of the app and weather data is the same even on a competing station in the same city.
