That's basically any luxury car and has been for years.

You can buy a 5 year old Mercedes S class for less than a 5 year old Silverado.

My parents drove BMW’s when I was a kid, and I feel like a I spent a disproportionate amount of my childhood in the lobby of Wedge Kyes on Airline.

BMW’s are a nice alternative if you can’t afford a Range Rover every other year.

Ive had 3. My 86 528 was a great road car. The 89 535i was a rocket and the 92 740i was a frigging beast all the way around. Fun to drive, but cost a lot to maintain even back in the day.
