re: Whats with the homecoming/ask productions now?

I'm a HS teacher. Nearly every single case of this happening takes place when the girl knows who is asking her and the guy already knows she'll say yes. So instead of just a boring hey you wanna go with me? The guy puts in some effort to do something more interesting. It's not just the nerdy band kids doing it.

Like I said it's just kids being silly, having fun and trying to make a ubiquitous high school experience more memorable.
