What's up with these Geico commercials that mention other unrelated brands?

One says a guy used his insurance money to buy a Sleep Number mattress. Another says he bought Banana Republic pants.
Are we getting 2 commercials in 1 here? Are other companies now just like frick it, instead of making our own commercial let's just pay to be in a Geico one?

yeah, other company pays Geico money to be mentioned in the ad.

I wasn't sure what you were referencing but my initial thought was GEICO is a Berkshire Hathaway company having something to do with it, but that may not be the case.
