Back in the early 80’s our frat would get our betting sheets on wednesday from the local bookie. One weekend I put $10 on a 10 game parlay. I was 9 for 9 going into the late Hawaii game. If they cover, I was going to win something like $500-$600. Hedging was not an option. So, we went out to Murphys and celebrated like the rainbows could do no wrong. Woke up the next morning pretty hungover, checked the scores, and let’s just say …. I celebrated too early.

Parlays are low risk. Going to a casino is way worse.

I very rarely gamble. Like once a decade kind of thing.

On a guys trip, I won closest to the pin on the 18th in our group to net $350 on a $50 bet. I play golf maybe once a year, and it was dumb fricking luck. I skulled it and ran it up next to the hole.

Took that to the casino that night. Got up to $1100 after tip on blackjack doing what the dealer told me to do. Like, I literally did not make a single hit/stay decision on my own. I just asked the dealer what to do and did it.

Put it all on red as I walked out and hit. Paid for the trip.
