Students no longer have consequences and they know it.

Yep, and many of us had guns in our vehicles and yet nobody found a need to shoot up people in the school, nor was there ever a fear of something like that taking place.
Same where I went to school. We took the shooting portion for hunters safety on campus. We went to the practice baseball field and shot at thrown clays to qualify for our hunters ed card.

We had the paddle as well. I was last paddled in my Junior year in high school. I had gotten into a scuffle with someone and I was given the option of either ten hits with the paddle or take all week "clinic", where I still do all of my classwork and take tests but make all zeros. I wasn't stupid, I took the 10 licks of the paddle and went back to class.

That was the first year of the new school board tactic of "clinic". It was all day detention and was the first step towards eliminating things like paddling.

Do schools still have shop class? I'd imagine with today's litigious society and pretty much everything in shop class being a potential weapon, I'd imagine it is no longer a thing. I remember in my sophomore year, part of shop class was taxidermy.

They gave us the basic tools, including knives to train with for that quarter/semester. Imagine giving kids actual knives today in a class, much less have them use them to help taxidermy an animal.

Mostly protestant...but there were Catholics and non-believers in the school. Small town of only 500.

In MS, Everything hinges on one big test at the end of the year; we had state tests growing up, but it didn't affect your grade or whether you pass or fail.

The big thing is Districts that perform well on this test get more money; thus the teachers drill the kids all year; but the kids are stressed and the teachers push too much.

Attractive and promiscuous teachers

There have always been hot teachers.

There were several hot babes that I would've liked to be slutty.

I looked up one on FB and she's still attractive.
