Politics - I think some people confuse politics with religion/culture or I guess to some politics is their religion. I feel like two Evangelicals with differing political views will get along much better than an Evangelical and an atheist that shares the same political beliefs.

I'm a religious person with mostly libertarian political views. I can't imagine marrying a nonreligious person even if they were also libertarian. I wouldn't have an issue marrying a religious socialist.

If politics are divorced from personality, then they're really not important. The problem is that this is rarely the case. For women who are overtly political, politics IS their personality, and it can be a major turn off. With that said, if politics isn't their personality, they have a great personality, and respect the fact that I have different beliefs from them, then this won't even be a tiny issue.
