Better learning environment
No poors
No hardcore druggies (some pot and rxs)
Nearly 0% chance of getting shanked in the hall
No gangs
ETA: I should disclose I went to a parochial private school. So your mileage may vary. I would expect non-church affiliated private schools would have more and worse drugs and peer pressure to do them.

Went to private school my whole life and loved it. There were some stuck up kids, but there were more "normal" kids than anything else. Juniors gave the freshman a hard time more so than anything else. Seniors didn't really give a shite. The girls, yes
.
I was prepared for college. I didn't have to study at all my first year an half. After that my major classes got harder, so I had to study.

Certainly.

Had some, but they were on academic scholarships. School I went to was started as a Jewish orphans school in 1903 and has always been philanthropic in handing out scholarships to very smart poor kids.

Plenty of pot and coke.

You were probably just running with the wrong crowd, or at a super small school.
My school there were some serious drugs running around. One dude got his car towed by the cops from school while he ran and hid in the woods. He was a known coke dealer, at least to some people at the school. I think it was 15k and a few guns in the car, more stashed at his home. He is out of jail now.

Some of the Mexican students might have.
Plenty of everything.

brmhs had some attractive bithes, but nothing like st joes. I would kill to frick a girl from there. They have armies of blond girls at PBS. At BRMHS, we had bullying, trash ( drug dealing and one guy killed a kid) and a lot of cliques.

I enjoyed everyone being cool with everyone and all having common interest.
ONLY thing I didn't like was the small sample size of females and that people dated throughout high school. People do it in public schools but not as much and you're always stepping on someone's toes. We usually just took girls from our rival schools.

actually, this one Indian kid I knew got severely bullied at Episocbal . he was very annoying, but they shoved him in lockers, ran over his foot with a car, and beat him in bathrooms. on the other hand, this short geeky Asian kid at CHS is killin it. He took a beautiful st joes white girl to prom ( brunette) and he has a lot white friends.

True, but I asked to go there.

I went to Notre Dame.
We had some cliques, but my class was everyone hanging out with each other basically. Only if you were a total weirdo would you not have many friends. And yes, plenty of good looking girls.

Nah, I finished 5th grade at Christian Brothers in City Park and saw my cousin graduate from Stanislaus that summer. I asked if I could go. They had fishing, tennis, swimming, golf, OLA next door
....right on the water....
No N.O. school had that kind of setup.
You just had to be tough to enjoy it, otherwise it would have been like prison at an exclusive beachfront resort.

I think you're about 9 years older. I wouldn't know your S.S.C. friends.
I loved my time there. It's a great school.
It was gonna be Jesuit for me if I hadn't ditched town, so it's really like I won twice.

Think again. I graduated Newman in 1983.
All the people I know had a love/hate relationship with it. Kind of like most things I guess.
