I have been on both sides of the question and it is hard - Now that I am on the DAD side let me say this.
Most dads- just want to see you and spend time with you. IF you live near by go out to eat and pick up the tab.
If you live far away- take a video of you and the kids, pics - something he can look at over and over- send him a gift card to his favorite eat place, outdoor, sports etc
IF you want to go over the top - here is one I will never forget- " are you going to be home on this date? Yep
I have something for you being deliver- you have to be there" ok
Knock on the door- and there stands my present. He flew in to town just for me!
