Clearly, I read from the thread and decided I didn’t want to have to subsequently scroll past it every time I might return to that same forum.

That is the whole point of my suggestion. Simple solution.

Lol. Just talking in the hypothetical realm of possibilities. In my OP, I specified my suggestion was not directed at anybody in particular.
