Riverwalk about an hour and the Alamo about an hour and then you're done.

The other very underrated option is County Line BBQ right on the Riverwalk. Most don't know how to order there and just order "brisket" expecting the cut you get at the craft BBQ places. Instead, order 2nd cut brisket and the beef ribs (NOT the pork ribs, which are mediocre). Ask for all three varieties of sauce, or they will just bring you their traditional and kind of bland IMO base sauce. The blueberry cobbler if they have it is outstanding, and I like the coleslaw but it is different from what you might expect. The house-made white bread is also very good.
Surprisingly good. Met some out of town family there at their decision. Was afraid it would be terrible like the locations in Austin which are arse in comparison.

If UTSA has a home game, you can go check it out at the Alamodome
The restaurant at the top of the needle rotates and has amazing views, the food is average, but it’s worth it
Someone else suggested Bohannans, they aren’t just good for steaks, in my opinion it’s the best restaurant in the town
Go have a drink at the Esquire Tavern
You won’t regret that, there’s a speakeasy in the basement at the Riverwalk level that’s very very, very eclectic. If that’s the right term you’ll know what I mean if you go visit it.
Of course the Alamo is always something you want to see if you haven’t
If there’s any kind of comedy show or concert at the Majestic, absolutely do it. It’s an incredible venue.

Honestly, in New Braunfels (about 45 minutes north of SA) it’s Wurstfest this week. It’s a huge event for the area. Beer, food, music etc…
Not sure if that is your speed, but definitely interesting.

Go to blanco cafe (the one on blanco road) or Chris Madrids, you won’t regret either one
If you go to blanco cafe then get the cheese enchilada plate.

Mi Tierra has never had the best food but it is worth going for the experience alone

if they're going there be sure to swing by Gruene Hall for a longneck or two

Smoke shack and barbecue station both clear pinkertons, they are more long time, and probably half the price.

Forget UTSA, go to a spurs game. They play again on Friday

New braunfels will likely be a mad house this weekend/week due to wurst fest, I would steer clear unless you want to go party it up.
Now there is the stable hall at the Pearl, so you can see live music there instead of having to trek all the way to NB.
Gruene hall is great though!

When I went, it was the most authentic and amazing Mexican food I have ever had and thats after me trying many Taquerias around South Texas, I highly recommend it on a trip

I much prefer La Fonda on main for dinner Mexican food, I mostly only go to mi Tierra during fiesta and drink at the bar.
