What time do they block off Canal on Endymion Saturday?

Have to get some stuff taken care of downtown on Saturday am. Plan was to be finished by 2:00/2:30 and take Canal all the way down the route past Carrollton to find a spot since parade doesn't start til 4:15 on City Park Ave
Will the street be clear for street traffic to pass that late in the day or will it be closed earlier?

Going lakebound on Canal that day, your problem is going to be crossing Carrollton at Canal. They may have that intersection blocked off by then.
Instead, come up Tulane out of downtown, take Tulane and turn right on Jeff Davis and left on Banks and just come up Banks the rest of the way. If you are trying to get to St Anthony then turn onto S Olympia.
But unless someone blocked a spot for you, you ain't finding any parking in that area at 2:30.
