I was in Desert Storm (our Marine Amphibious Group was some of the first boats in the Gulf).

Watched John Glenn's launch in '98 live

I was a CFI and flew with some of my flight students around LA during the Rodney King riots. You could see plumes of smoke around the city. (Had to circumvent most of the city because they had closed airspace over LA)

I was in Berlin the day the wall came down. Still have 3 x 10 lb bricks from it.

Surreal day.

Was working with the Golden State murderers daughter when he was arrested.

Also met the wife of one of the Boston Marathon Bombing the day before it happened. Her father is a physician.
