There's tons of Family Practice docs that are going to cash only per person. Like $2500-4000 each, and you basically get unlimited visits with something like guaranteed appointments in 3 hours or less M-F. I think they bill things like shots basically at cost?

Referred to as coincerge medicine and is becoming quite more common. I'll never be without health insurance though. I had a normal, healthy life for 23 years and out of no where, boom cancer. I'm much better now, but I incurred over $1.5 million in charges for my care. Unless you have Medicaid as a fall back option, I don't know why you risk it especially if you need medications.

We did this once last summer for an annual "well child" visit for my then two year old; I was making a career change and it just worked out where we were between insurances.

They told us straight up it would be 25% less when we told them we would be paying cash. When we went to leave and pay, it was close to 45% less.

Many docs will give a significant discount. I know of many specialists offering 50% off if you pay cash upfront.

They’d rather give a discount and get guaranteed money now rather than fight some retard in Zachary for $30 coinsurance.
