I just had a friend who was working for a Land company that was sold. He was there for 18 years. for the 27 employees they each earned 1 million dollars per year with the company from the sale.
He is now going full time on his cattle ranching and adding more. Dude was stoked and did well before the sale, but damn!

I'm in sales - I make more than my "boss". The rest of his team brings down his numbers = no bonus for him.
