If I were in your situatuon I would attend the funeral, but it really just depends on how the family sets things.

I lost a close family member recently, and my boss paid me for a few more days than the normal three day bereavement period. Which was much appreciated.

They also sent a care package of snacks to the family instead of flowers.

*They did not attend any of the services, but I have only worked for the company for 1.5 years.
