Well they probably would have if it wouldn't have been for disease and their lack or immunity. That was their real foe that led to their downfall

The population issue had everything to do with disease. It is believed as much as 97% of all Natives in North America died between 1492 when Columbus made first contact and 1607 when the British colony of Virginia was founded.

It is thought that the Aztec capital in modern Mexico City possibly had as many as 1,000,000 people living there. Belize is one of the only places on earth that had a higher population in 1500 than it does today.

Poverty Point is thought to have been home to at least 100,000 people.

I always wondered why the disease exchange didn't work both ways. Surely esp in South America there must be diseases Europeans struggled with.
