I do. The stay safe phrase reminds me of how loving hovering mothers harass their children during typical, potentially risky activities.

“Don’t get run over.”
“Don’t fall out of trees “
“Look where you are going.”
“Don’t catch a virus.”

That gets annoying, but they mean well. “GFY” is a super angry response to someone who cares about you.
