Not talking about the shelter aspect. I mean more where you made your life, you put down your roots, kids names written in the cement, tree swing in the back yard, etc....

Is it just the physical building/property or does it mean more to you?

I feel rooted to Katy the city. Our home can change and I'd be ok.

We could certainly downsize as my son gets older

I could and would walk away fast for what they say it's worth. Just trying to choose where I want to land.

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell

It's not the structure but the stuff inside it for me. Spent too many years moving around in the military. I'm 38 and have never lived in one place for over 4 years.

You know home when you get there. Sometimes it's a town, sometimes a building.

I love my home but I hate the responsibility that comes with it.
I feel like the big deal that is made out of becoming a homeowner is one big racket.

Home is where you keep your stuff. Can't feel any more attachment than that. In 48 years of marriage my wife and I owned 12 homes. I'm living in a rental now and am perfectly happy.

People stopped looking at a house as long term home and more of an investment for short term gains.

I just built mine and moved in a couple months ago. I love the house but will probably live in it 3-5 years, sell it make some money and build another one.

Drunk so take this with a grain of salt:

I move a lot for work (getting the frick out of BR in two weeks ) so I kinda worry about the little one and how he deals with never being in one spot too long.

I remember growing up in a house and thinking of it as home, but he won't have that. Kinda makes me sad for him but at the same time kinda happy he gets to see and get exposed to a lot of shite.

It's a weird trade off, but yeah home is where people love you so it kinda goes where you go.

End gayness.
