I stopped checking mine after hours years ago. It's quite liberating. People at work will ask "did you read that email I sent you on Saturday?". Yep, on Monday morning I read it.
I do the same. No raise since 2018 regardless of our team performance or my own performance reviews. Promoted without a increase in pay. Therefore, I responded accordingly.
I've never logged into TEAMS on my phone although I have the app. My work email strangely stopped receiving emails about a year ago and I refuse to troubleshoot it.
No thanks, 45 hours a week and no chance of raise means Dave ain't checking email over Sunday brunch. No thank you.
If my supervisor calls, I'll usually take the call or return it, but not playing the email game if I don't absolutely have too, especially when everything was an emergency to my supervisor. He has no respect of another persons personal time.

I've gotten a raise every year of my 8 years with my current company. I've also gotten a promotion with a pay increase.
I just feel like people need a work/life balance. It's actually illegal in France to require employees to read email after hours. That's one thing they have right imo.
When I'm spending time with my family (and I'm not on call) I don't give a shite what's going on at the office unless it's an emergency. We are a 24/7 365 business so you can work all you want if you are so inclined.

Wake Up
Jackoff
Smoke a bowl
Shower
Jackoff in shower
Dry off and put on "clothes"
Open email, decide if I want to respond or not
Jackoff again
Start a pot of coffee

I see it as a compromise. I don’t mind answering emails/texts/calls when I’m not at work but at the same time don’t expect me to sit at a desk 8 hours a day.

Sounds like a shitty way to "live life" but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.
I wake up around 0815, start my day at 0830, work from home.
I don't really have a set schedule but generally have about 4-5 Zoom meetings per day, which can be internal or with Clients. The rest of the day is spent working on projects for my Clients.
Quick 10 minute lunch if I'm busy and/or between meetings. I may take 1-1.5 hours if I'm not busy and eat then play a little XBox or watch a show from whatever series I may be watching.
Knock off at 4pm.
Previous job dealt with a shite ton of on-call. Not so much having to come back to work, just dealing with a lot of calls/texts after hours/weekends. New job I've been at for almost 1 year is fantastic, Once I'm done at 4pm and into the weekends, there's never been a single thing asked of me to do. I forgot what that was like after taking call for a few years, it's nice.

Wake up 6:30 and get my son up for school.
Walk 2-3 miles and finish by 8. Eat, shower and dress for work (shorts & tshirt).
Workday is mostly calls and emails writing quotes and setting appointments for school visits which resume next week. Usually 8-2 or 3 at the latest.
When I'm on the road, I visit at least 3 campuses a day and see 4-5 teachers/administrators per campus. Typical trip week is Monday AM-Thursday AM. Friday is used to set up the next week.

Here I was wondering how everyone else has time to work out, make dinner, and take care of a family. I truly thought that 7am to 5:30pm+ was normal working hours. I do it because I don't know any different.

Not really possible for me
Work can never “wait”

For me, I usually leave at 5:30 AM, stop by the office at 6:00, work on planning the day, updating expense report, printing out estimates, etc. leave the office around 7:00 spend the rest of the day in meetings at job sites, offices, shops, quarries, landfills, and mines. Lunch is usually a business lunch with a customer. Usually get home around 5-6 that evening. Spend the next hour or two doing what I call “laptop work” before about 7-8 I call it quits for the day.
So what does your workday look like?
Id rather be poor than work this much ( I'm not).

Get up at 4AM and go to my desk to check overnight emails, get work down which requires not being interrupted by phone calls (and wife). frick around on internet around 9 or 10. Take care of other email. Eat at 11:00 or 11:30, nap, get up and do some more work with afternoon coffee. 3:00PM frick off on internet a bit more. Work as needed until midnight.
If I am on the road like this Wednesday and Thursday. 4AM work in hotel until normal hours either driving or in the field.

Yeah that's a lot of hours. I'll occasionally work 60 hours in a week but it's the exception and not the norm.

I wake up around 7 and basically get nothing done around my house while drinking coffee for a few hours.
Around 10, one of the dogs and I head to the office. There's a lot of coffee drinking and reassuring him everything I have isn't in fact a treat. We leave when we're done.
Repeat x 5.
