As a population they think Americans are trashy and fat. Also that they lack culture. Pretty much the general American stereotypes.

I've been a civilian American living in Britain (England) for over 11 years now...many of them think our culture is a bit too "in your face" and they completely don't understand guns. But for the most part, they are friendly with Americans and want to talk about all the times they've been to America on holidays.
Any other specific questions, I can probably answer after living her for so long now.

Been here for 3 days now.
They don't think a whole lot of us that I can tell.
Nobody looks you in the eye.
Humor is non fricking existent.
Weather sucks and so far food is so-so.
I have 4 more days so it can redeem itself but so far I'm not impressed.

Ehh... Russia has a lot of natural resources, but they're located in regions where they are very difficult to reach and extract due to the terrain (wet marsh in the summer) and climate (at or above the arctic circle). It is (or was) easier and cheaper to get at what we have (or had). Plus, the same issues hamper their food-production abilities (hence their covetousness of Ukraine) whereas our latitude and vast flat, relatively dry interior make us the world's breadbasket.

Yea, they generally like us. They kind of view us as their unwashed cousins though. They have a somewhat contemptuous view of our culture.
