They just continue practicing all the same.

Basically getting assigned to that unit removes you from being deployed.

It’s kinda like being a drill instructor or recruiter. While you are doing that, you aren’t gonna get deployed

Somewhat related so hopefully not a thread hijack. The spokesman for this group was being interviewed the other day and I wondered how they reconciled this with themselves. This is 2 days after they lost 6 of their Air Force comrades while they flew a combat mission. I get it. The military is a huge complex needing people from all walks of life but signing up to sing or play an instrument, never putting yourself in harm’s way was a mentality I never understood of someone joining the military.
