Hate to tell you this but Tailgaters gets their crawfish from California. I was there two weeks ago (The Woodlands location) and asked the server how is it they sell crawfish year round. She said they ship em from Cali until the Louisiana season picks up. As of now, they are still getting them from CA.

What are you talking about? Nobody does this. You think the farmers stop fishing? All this would do is choke up the market at the farm and wholesale level and lower the price even more.
The price is already $2 a pound for medium and a $1 for peelers which is really low for this time of year and the catch right now is worse than this time last year.
