Best - eating the crawfish
Worse- getting rid of stinky peelings

The best is the smell.

When you’re boiling and the seasonings start becoming fragrant, there’s no better core memory smell than a crawfish boil.

When that scent hits me…I’m 7 years old again and we’re in my childhood yard while my dad runs the show.

I love the smell of a crawfish boil.

Worst part is when it’s 85 degrees outside and humid.

Nothing inherently bad about any boil itself, IMO.

Unless the host/boiler is one of the Lafayette dusting and mustard in an ice chest types

Best is the whole cooking process, sometimes more fun than eating them…Worst is cost and clean up.

You don’t have to suck on a hose to siphon, unless that’s how you get down.


1. Submerge the entire hose
2. Cover the end of the hose with your thumb
3. Pull the end out of the tank
4. When the end is lower than the water level, release your thumb
