im not. Just started doing it and bled between my pinky/ring finger knuckles both times. Need to strike with my center knuckle instead.

Yep, Center and Pointer knuckle so when punching through your knuckle doesn't roll and cause the boxer break you are asking for with bad form. Can also strike harder this way.

I've been using a heavy bag (canvas) for probably 6 years now and if your gloves or wraps are too loose or big, you will tear your knuckles up. Make sure whatever you use, they are a snug fit. The everlast gel wraps are pretty good and ways easier than actual wraps. They don't get as nasty either, it's basically a padded tight glove you wear under the main gloves. Great workouts and gets the whole body involved.
