There is always a breeze at the beach so just keep the baby in the shade and you are good

If you are staying at a house or condo right on the beach, it's a great place for even kids that young. Beats the hell out of Disney or doing a city or active vacation of some kind.
A little beach time and some pool time works fine. If you have other family with you I'm sure they will watch the baby while you go eat or do something else in the area for a while.

Mom and dad still get coffee and drinking time on the balcony while baby sleeps/naps.

Does this 6 month old have a grandad, or grandma, pop, granny, gramps grandaddy, mimi etc... Grammy doesn't like the sun too much so she gets her 30 minutes of sun

This is the pro move. You’re a hero for inviting the in-laws but really doing it for the built in babysitting.

Make sure to have sunscreen and an umbrella to keep the sun off the baby. At least a 6 month old can’t try to run off and sneak into the water when you turn your back. Be prepared to go back in if the baby gets hot and fussy.

Just watch the wind forecast. If they get sand in their eyes it is miserable for you and them. They can still do this all by themselves but high winds make it more likely.

We took both of ours around that age and we just stuck to the morning and late afternoon and avoided the midday. Something I tend to do anyway, my favorite time at the beach is in the late afternoon after a hot day, that breeze feels so good and the cold beer goes with it great

There’s some really self-centered dicks in this thread. WTF did you have kids for if you’re already trying to be away from them at this age point? They’re only young once. Enjoy the time with them and your wife. And you won’t have to listen to your wife calling up whoever is taking care of the baby every hour to check up.

This. We set up a kiddie blow up pool under an umbrella. Used some buckets to fill with gulf water and brought along a little chair contraption for naps. No problems!

You bring them at any age and just got with it. Lazy river snd pool is a huge plus. Go to beach in afternoon when it’s cooler. I will say I have three little ones. When we go to the beach it’s a massive workout. I feel like a dang pack mule carrying everything out there.
