My daughter is 9 and son will turn 7 tomorrow. They have always woken up before us in the mornings. It was aggravating at first, because they would wake us up. I look at it as a blessing now. In the last year or so they get themselves ready for school and make themselves breakfast. I can sleep in till the very last minute and not have to worry about getting up early to get them going.
My daughter even feeds and lets the dog out so I can sleep in on the days the wife has to leave early for work. She doesn’t realize it or doesn’t want to accept how mature they are, but I don’t have to do anything in the morning for them except take them to school. She always worries that I can’t handle it on the days she leaves before all of us are up. ????
