These stories are fake.
If the story originated from the Daily Mail, it's a Rupert Murdoch "fire up the citizens with a proud welfare abuser" story. They post one of these every couple months or so.
Not saying that these people don't exist, but the Daily Mail is basically the Jerry Springer Show of print journalism.
