I bet they almost pulled the trigger on a rotation near Decatur a bit ago. It is still there but much broader.

New SPC outlook for the rest of the night. They’ve removed the 10% tornado probability.

Yeah, that’s a worrisome one. It’s by itself and in an untapped environment. Plus, there are lots of people in T-Town tonight for the basketball game.

Yeah. It has broad rotation with it right now. I'm sure they're watching it closely.

The rotation I mentioned near Decatur, AL has finally produced a tornado nearly 60 miles to the East near Rainsville.

ETA: this tornado is now confirmed.

It was crazy that it was pretty calm here where I live as far as winds then all the sudden it popped up a tornado warning south of us in Scottsboro. Brad Travis said earlier this system looks to have some of that Sand Mtn magic and looks like he was right.

Yeah, I had been watching that one off and on. Back to the West of you it wasn't very far from me.

It is a confirmed tornado just between Powell and Rainsville that had a good TDS for a couple frames. That part of the line had been trying to wrap up for 60+ miles.

May want to check out NGA and SWNC. SKYWARN was just activated accompanied by a Tornado watch for Graham, Swain, Cherokee, and Clay counties in NC. Fannin and Union Counties in NGA.

Confirmed tornado just crossed I-65 south of Calera, AL. This is not too far south of the Birmingham metro.

Hard to say since the darkness limits us from seeing the full scope of the damage. I would guess EF-1 based on what I’ve seen.

Warning or watch? Warning means a tornado has touched down and they should seek shelter immediately. Watch means conditions are right for a tornado, but nothing has been produced.
