Wednesday Night Wrestling Wars Thread: NXT TakeOver Night 2 Edition

The fun shows of nobody being around continues tonight with both shows actually trying to make tonight somewhat important.

AEW Dynamite comes from Parts Unknown (Cody & QT's gym in Georgia??) tonight

The hunt for the first ever AEW TNT (TV?) Champion begins tonight with a quarterfinal match pitting "The American Nightmare" Cody against "The Chairman of AEW" Shawn Spears (who may or may not still be looking for a tag team partner)

Building off the little dust-up they had last week... which may or may not have involved a Popeye's Chicken Sandwich... Hikaru Shida takes on Dr. Britt Baker DMD

Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa take on Best Fiends (w/ "freshly squeezed" Orange Cassidy)... perhaps a build to Nakazawa joining the Dark Order maybe?

"The Exalted One" Brodie Lee will beat up some poor minion who may have yawned or sneezed at a Dark Order meeting... I wonder if he'll be extra mad this week since the Firefly Fun House match on Sunday basically took all of his material (will he yell at a DO member to "get your hands up" while being punched? Or tell us "that's some good shite"?)

It's the final 2 hours of programming WWE already has in the can as NXT on USA comes from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla.... and it amounts to what would've been the main thrust of the NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay card (including the triple threat North American Championship match from last week)

I'm sure if there had been no virus... the main event (or co-main event) of TakeOver would've been Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream for the NXT Championship... but Cole was caught out of the country and thus wasn't (and still may not be) available for NXT tapings... so scrap that

So the main event of NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay will be the ultimate fight to end 1 of NXT's greatest feuds in brand history as Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa fight in a "warehouse" so they don't destroy Trip's beloved PC (maybe it's the WWE Archives warehouse so we can re-do the Firefly Fun House match)

Also... we have the 6-woman ladder match to determine the #1 contender to the NXT Women's Championship... Chelsea Green vs. Io Shirai vs. Candice LeRae vs. Tegan Nox vs. Mia Yim vs. Dakota Kai... and with Charlotte Flair now the NXT Women's Champion a heel has to win right? Since WWE apparently still SOMEHOW sees Charlotte as a babyface
