Several years ago, a lady jogging on the Katy Trail in Dallas was hit by a man on a bicycle. He was approaching her from behind and announced the " on your left" standard passing call. She had headphones on and suddenly decided that was the exact spot she wanted to turn around.

I wear my Airpods in Sam's and Kroger. I keep it down low enough so I can hear what is around me.

For some reason I don’t mind people wearing headphones listening to music. It’s the Bluetooth phone people walking around talking to what looks like nobody that bothers me.

I wear them not to listen to but to complete my look.

I do this quite a bit. Keeps people away but still allows me to know what's around me.
