Ralf was a beautiful 11-year-old German Shepherd. He served most of his adult life in service to the United States Military, including several tours in the “Sand Box”. In recent months, Ralf’s health had taken a turn for the worse, and further medical intervention was deemed to be fruitless. Sadly, Ralf’s dad is currently serving another tour right now. His mom had to make a very tough decision. We did not charge them.

RIP Ralf 2007-2018

I read this as veterinarian at first and thought it was poetic justice. That sucks though he's with all the other good boys now

I can’t find the footage but I’ll never forget May 14, 1998 in Nashville.

Regions Bank had been robbed and there was a standoff with the gunman. A police shepherd, Aron went straight into the bullets, and after being hit still managed to limp back faithfully to his officer.

It was just fricking heartbreaking to watch.

17 years later it inspired Aron’s Law to make killing one of these dogs a felony.

If they weren’t so incredible, it would not suck so bad losing one. I’ve put down more than one and if you can do that and not cry, you did not get everything out of your time with them ( my username).
