Also, came upon a guy one night who had been cut in half by a train.

Damn... I bet that was a tough one to see. CPR can't do much in that situation.

Especially when it's pitch black. Half his body was lying between the two rails and the other half lying outside. What amazed me is there wasn't a palm full of blood anywhere.

Life is precious. Too precious to waste hating anyone. I died much like the circumstances you described. I survived because of the professionalism and expertise of some amazing cardiac nurses and doctors. I was leaving this world, and I knew it. They brought me back.

Everyday is a gift. Help someone today, affirm them, love them, and use words if you have too.

I see it at work. Can never get use to kids dying. And after you spend so much time trying to save someone and you're mentally and physically exhausted you have to take care of the next patient who's complaining about the wait for his tooth pain for 4 months

Death breathing is called the death rattle. Mother died of lung cancer 5 years ago and I never want to hear that sound again.

Yea the sound of my dad breathing like that haunts me. It's only been 6 months since he passed but like you I never want to hear it again.
