Where'd you go to anesthesia school? Did you work in the SICU or MICU prior to going back?

Still waiting on what I can’t do that an anesthesiologist can boys

That’s right...it’s because I’m also an anesthesiologist who happens to be trained as a nurse.

In fact the first anesthesiologist were nurses.??

You called yourself an anesthesiologist. You are misrepresenting your training, your title, your abilities and credentials. This whole thread I have pointed out that this is exactly what nurse midlevels do.

Thanks for playing.

I didn’t call myself an anesthesiologist. I called myself a nurse anesthesiologist.

From what I understand, a CRNA cannot perform their job without the "oversight" of an MD.

I know that often that oversight can be quite minimal, but I do know that the MD is still carrying the professional liability and malpractice insurance for the procedure.

A weekend course refresher course in echocardiography? You think that’s all it takes to be proficient in echocardiography?

You’d be completely wrong about insurance and malpractice.

my cardio thoracic surgeon seems to be comfortable with it. I mean it’s probably combined with the 8 years of heart experience I had prior to anesthesia training.

And while we are linking sdn, check out all of my physician colleagues' opinions of you:

Not enough? How about this thread about the WHO and the APSF position statements on anesthetic care:

“Since this surgery center did not have an MD anesthesiologist, the expert pointed to the ophthalmologist as the “captain of the ship.” The expert testified that the CRNA did not intubate the patient properly and the insured did not diagnose improper esophageal intubation.”

Also, “prompted the CRNA to get into a shoving match with one of the paramedics.” Haha.

I’d try to protect being incompetent and signing charts all day for 50% billable revenue and making the world think you actually are relevant to the OR.

When seconds count....just after my coffee.

Okay, so when you need brain surgery, you going to ask for the nurse?

There are these people called O.R. nurses.

Rouge: supervision or medical direction or independent practice varies state to state and hospital to hospital. Outcomes? Give him a chance to dig up that piss-poor study his association bought and paid for.

He is so easy and predictable.

Yeah show me the outcomes man...begging you.

Considering almost 80% of anesthetic are already delivered by CRNAs....we doing alright.

I shattered that bubble pretty quick.
