A cat and mouse game with the Polk County Sheriff's Office is likely not a good idea, but that hasn’t stopped a local man from striking one up.

It all started last Friday when the Polk County Sheriff's Office decided to use social media to track down some wanted suspects.

Their “#FridayFelons” post on Facebook featured two men, Tyler Thornton and Logan Hale.

Thornton has since been arrested, but Hale- he’s still on the run, wanted on felony burglary and gun charges.

Less than two hours after deputies made that Facebook post, the cat and mouse game began.

Hale made a comment under the post stating, "Lol can’t hurt much now."

Hale then made a couple more comments, but under a new name: "Logan Finallyfree Hale".

"HELLO here i am......", he wrote Tuesday.

"Deputies continue to look for me but Are frustrated that i am unable to be located....", another comment reads.

As one might guess, the sheriff’s office is not amused by Hale’s taunts.

"Remaining 'at large' is only going to result in your having to change your FB name from 'Finallyfree' to 'Back In Jail' - it would be wise for you to turn yourself in to the nearest PCSO facility. Or give us a call - we'll be happy to provide transportation. 863-298-6200," they said in a response.

As of Thursday, Hale had yet to take them up on their offer. We'll let you know if that changes.
